    Great Mushroom Soup! Don't forget - BYOB - the wine selection is up to you so stop before you get to town. The Oyster Poor Boy was done perfectly, especially since you can get a half a sandwich and the mushroom soup (/c crabmeat) for a filling lunch.

    BYOB is always a bonus! Gives Twelves the 5. Dinner can be a little over priced even though the crab cake is delicious. Mushroom soup is good. The burger is top notch, perfectly cooked to order. IE a little red inside! Most places struggle to achieve pink. The vault table looks interesting, need to try it sometime

    As others in our area, we are regulars. Tuesday Night 6 of us were together we normally get together a few times each year and we always pick Twelves's BYOB. The Cheese platter and Portobello Fries were grate, just like all of our meals. My friend is in a wheel chair and he has no problems with Twelves, one reason we go there, Bathrooms are big for someone that is in a chair.. Food is always great, and we do eat out weekly, and in some cases a couple times a week. For me I'm a Burger Guy, and for the last couple of years, it's the only place I buy a burger since I have been disappointed at other places. Please note I eat my burger "Still Walking". When I see complaints on yelp, Like about the Bank Vault, when you grow up here and that bank you were in for 40 plus years it neat and I wonder if people ever complain to Management or just do it on social media..Just Sayin!

    Took the family for Mother's Day dinner - we just moved to the area and this was our first time eating at Twelves. We're looking for good restaurants around Kennett Square and were hopeful based on the reviews. Ultimately Twelves was a disappointment. As the star rating says - meh - I've had better. Why? Numerous reasons - right off the bat we were seated at what must be the worst table in the restaurant - right in the middle of the floor near the hostess stand beside the former bank vault. The place was essentially empty when we arrived (we ate early - I made 4:30 reservations). We asked for a different table. A long and very awkward time later (no one sat down, we just stood there), no apologies, no hostess interaction, no nothing, we were led to a different table. A bad start. Service was okay - not friendly, not over-the-top, just service. The food was hit or miss. I had the trout special (good but they served it with cole slaw - cole slaw?), my son had the Mahi- Mahi (terrible and undercooked), my wife and daughter had the chicken (pretty good). Overall for a $125 meal the entire experience was absolutely nothing special. We wanted to like it. We didn't. Twelves was more like a 5 and a half. We'll keep looking.

    I love this place! When friends dare to make the trek to West Grove for a visit, I love to take them here. They are always pleasantly surprised. I have been here with friends, staff, and locals, and every time has been a good-to-great- experience. The service is friendly, efficient and not rushed. The food is delicious. The mushroom soup and crab cakes are the best anywhere. Every time I go I have ordered something different and every time I have been more than satisfied. Only disappointment is the $5 per bottle cork fee--which sounds like it may have recently changed from some of the reviews I've read. But an overall great dining experience!

    Made a 30-min trek here with friends and high hopes. Left feeling unsatisfied. The Pros--nice place, nice staff, friendly, the risotto The Cons--about everything else, no one at the table finished their meal, not because it was too much food (the portions were small), but because no one particularly liked the food. It was predominantly things you could make at home with the same level of sophistication/taste, and i'm by no means a great cook. Cheese plate had very little cheese and was disappointing, the salmon had no flavor, the stuffed pasta was not on-point, the braised short-rib was bland, the mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a package and needed heavy seasoning. oh and the $5 corking fee was just unnecessary (especially when we had to wait for long periods of time to grab a waitress to open a bottle) Unfortunately, won't be coming back.

    Wonderful experience at Twelves! This was our first time dining at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious. We started with the cheese plate, beet salad and portobello fries. The presentation was beautiful, and although the cheeses were not especially gourmet, they were yummy. We then had the crab cake and mahi mahi entrees, both of which were very good. The mashed potatoes on the crab cake entree were amazing. The caramel chocolate "bomb" dessert was the perfect ending. We also tried the homemade ice cream, which I would say was just okay. We will definitely be back. Next on our list is to try their famous mushroom soup!

    you could call us regulars as hardly a month goes by that we don't eat at this place and sometimes we have been known to go on successive weeks. Not for lack of other options either as there are many good choices nearby. This place earns loyalty. The food is excellent. The menu small but they shake it up enough to keep it from getting old. We have watched several mainstay menu offerings evolve as well over the years we have eaten here. Simply great food with freindly attentive service for good value. Never really get dessert when I eat out, except this place. The ice cream is a no brainier. The caramel bomb is tremendous as well but you better have someone to spit it with. We have eaten here easily two dozen times. I once had a sandwich with a poorly trimmed peice of beef otherwise I can't think of a dish that could have been improved.

    Woo.... this is rough! Still a great restaurant and we're really happy to have them in the neighborhood! But... there have been management changes, and things are not running quite as smoothly as they used to. And, we've visited quite a few amazing BYOBs since our first review. We are still loyal patrons Twelves - but you're not quite holding up to the five star test!

    Great service, great atmosphere, and of course great food, and this visit was no different. We started off with the cheese platter and mushroom soup, my wife had the Steak Fries and I had the Pennsylvania New York Strip Streak. My steak was served with roasted brussels sprouts and smashed cauliflower, the cauliflower was out of this world (rich w butter). The staff was excellent and we never felt rushed or felt unattended. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

    This a really great restaurant. The food and service was phenomenal. I had mushroom soup and a crab cake both of which were great. Negative was Byob with a $5.00 corkage fee. Otherwise, worth the trip to West Grove.

    We frequent this restaurant. Most often, we get a great meal. The chicken is delicious, we love the fish entrees. The ambiance is nice if you sit in the main dining room, the alternate room lacks charm, the color of the room is a dull blue and is not a romantic setting. So be sure to select the main dinning area if it is a special occasion. Overall I feel the chairs are hard and a bit uncomfortable. I have had about 3 disappointing meals there and it seems like they were all pasta dishes. The chef should NOT service Italian entrees because I am always dissatisfied with the pasta dishes. Sometimes the shrimp (apparently frozen), lacks taste. I would like to say they serve the best seasonal artichoke and and fish entree, it is superb, but usually a summer dish. The beef and chicken are great. Remember you are in the country and the typical country dishes of steak, potatoes, mushroom soups and chicken are fabulous. I love the BYOB option. But once again, stay away from the pastas, they are best left closer to Authentic Italian restaurants in Philadelphia.

    Given the location, I guess I shouldn't expect TOO much from Twelves, but I'd heard it talked up so many times I decided to give it a try. The internal ambiance is subdued, and apart from a small crowd right at the front, near the coffeehouse setup, the seating and environment was spacious and appropriately quiet. Unfortunately, it goes downhill slightly from there. I ordered the $20 steak frites, and the best thing I can say about it was that the fries were excellent. The steak itself came out correctly cooked, but cold, which is surprising, given the small number of patrons that were there that evening. For $20, I think it would be fair to assume the steak would be in the 8 ounce range, but what I received was about half of that size, consisting of seven pre-sliced (which may explain the coldness) pieces, all of which were about an inch on each side. The fries themselves were excellent. Another few little notes- For a place selling itself as a fine-dining experience, bringing out little salt and pepper shakers (ground black pepper and table salt) seemed a bit out of place, and the sight of mops and empty wine buckets sitting in the front of the safe (the restaurant is built in an old bank branch, apparently) was not the best first impression. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient, and their level of attention was perfectly appropriate. In short, a nice attempt at a fine-dining experience in a small and mostly rural town, but the price point didn't match the reality of the place.

    My VERY favorite restaurant in PA! The BEST crab cakes anywhere, bar none! The best fresh ingredients available from local farmers. A truly attentive waitstaff. I'd dine there once a week if I could!

    I went there with my wife and father recently. Each of us had a different fish entree and all were amazing. I look forward to going again though it may take a third visit for me to try something other than the Cornmeal Crusted Blackened Carolina Catfish. The place is well decorated (someone put some work, thought and money into that) and the waiter we had was superbly attentive and professional without being overbearing. The atmosphere is casual but it is certainly nice enough for a special occasion out.

    Amazing food! My wife and I's favorite restaurant! I think it's the best food in the trust are area. After eating at the fountain, terrain, waterworks, and many more twelves remains my favorite . Try the mushroom soup, it's incredible!

    We've been here many times now, and always enjoy it. Nice dinner this evening, great service and pleasant ambiance. The portions are not always filling here, so we steered clear of the Price Fixe menu ($25), assuming even smaller portions, may have been a mistake. Appetizers were very nice; large shrimp and oysters. Her lamb chops were very salty, but cooked really nicely. My Beef Medallions were nice but reminded me of why I eat so little beef these days. Desserts were fine, and we always have their coffee's, which are excellent. Not an inexpensive dinner, over $100 (and BYOB), though we did have all three courses and special coffees. But we'll keep coming back, it is a local favorite, for special occasions.

    Enjoyed lunch here a week ago, Their mushroom soup is the best that I've ever had and that's saying plenty since Twelves is in the heart of mushroom country. Service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable. I see that the BLT has been reviewed and I second their opinion. It's a wonderful BLT. The Turkey Club is also outstanding. It is a large portion and rarely finished according to our server. The Twelves Burger was ordered medium and cooked perfectly. My group left talking about the food and that's what a good restaurant does. I am looking forward to reviewing their dinner.

    We've been thinking about trying this place for over a year now...we're always very hesitant to try new places bc we value the limited babysitting time we can find. Needless to say, we were disappointed. The place is nice inside and comfortable for the most part. I felt the service was good, my husband was not as impressed...it's BYOB with a corkage, but the server didn't pour our wine through the meal as would be expected. The food was very disappointing. We had a lobster tail tempura as an app, it was a poorly fried, very small, lobster tail cut in half, laid on a some greens with a small bowl of a generic out-of-the-bottle thai sauce. oddly, they thought presenting the dish with the deep fried shell was appealing. Next, we both had salads, he had the beet I had the spinach. My salad was barely dressed, in fact I'm not convinced it had anything on it at all. My husband's beet salad was the same, the greens weren't dressed and the beets were very sloppy. I had the crab cake served with mashed potatoes and asparagus ($32) and he had the filet with mushroom risotto and asparagus ($30). Hands down the WORST attempt at risotto we've ever had in a restaurant. The filet was also one of the worst pieces of meat we'v had in a long time, incredibly poor quality. All the components of my entree were very good, however, the mash did not compliment the crab cake in the least. There was no way we were having dessert. Yet another local restaurant that thinks they can charge high prices for mediocre food because, let's face it, the restaurants around here are few and very far between.

    We have been here a couple of times and have enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. The fresh cheese, in particular, was delicious. It's a BYOB, which means the wine is priced just right and we always have what we want (!). But, the atmosphere is a little lacking and I have come away wanting something else. This is a good little place, as close to 4 stars as you can get without actually getting there.

    We just came home from a great dinner at Twelves Grill. The server and staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the crab cake platter and I ordered the salmon special. Both dishes were quite good. The crab cakes were full of crab with very little filler and the asparagus that came on the side were cooked perfectly according to my husband. My salmon dish was also very good with the salmon being cooked just right. Our two daughters ordered grilled cheese (which was huge!!) and Mac and cheese (just ok). The French fries that came on the side were very good - the adults kept stealing them from the kids - they tasted just like boardwalk fries. We will be back to Twelves, it's a true gem in West Grove.

    We LOVE Twelve's. They accommodated a party of 20 for a birthday last night, and couldnt have done a better job. Delicious food, and great service. The salmon was outstanding. Perfectly moist and seasoned. Make sure you ask for Suzanne as a waitress-she's the best around!

    Stopped in on a whim for lunch--so glad we did! Dinner menu seems pricey, but lunch was a steal. Boyfriend had a phenomenal burger with bacon and cheese-we both loved it. Perfectly cooked, the beef and bacon had so much flavor-wow! The French fries on the side were great as well-medium thickness and freshly made. I had the BLT on multigrain bread-the bacon was outstanding and the sandwich wasn't greasy like many BLTs. Normally I skip the chips as a side, but these were too good to resist. The staff is professional yet friendly, and the decor is outstanding! What a beautiful restaurant, I wish I could move it closer to where I live! Needless to say, anytime we end up in the area, we are definitely making a beeline for this restaurant! Can't wait to try dessert here!

    I really enjoyed Twelves. Not inexpensive but the food is excellent and the BYOB saves you a bundle on wine. I always appreciate a restaurant's use of local ingredients. Prompt professional service. The decor is nice. My wife was not a fan of the paint color or commercial bathroom doors which felt more like a school than a nice restaurant. The low-end drop ceiling also could use an update. A few tweaks in these areas and Twelves is top-notch.

    Tripped over this place and had a great late afternoon lunch. They try to use local suppliers as well. Many good looking sandwiches but I had the burger. My wife had soup and salad. Look forward to next visit. Only compliant was I could not see menu on my iPhone.

    Ate here for the second time this weekend and I would have to say that they have definitely "upped" their game from a few months ago. (it was a Saturday night, my waitress appeared to be in high school and seemed more concerned with going out than serving). I had fried oysters for an appetizer. They were cooked perfectly and of a good size. For the main course I had the soft-shell crab special served with a caper butter sauce. It was over 6oz and served over fingerling potatoes and broccoli rabe. Definitely a dish worth ordering again if on the menu. The hostess (who is also the co-owner) makes it a point to come over to each table after the main entree is served to inquire how the meal is. This is a very nice touch and something which I hope they continue in the future. Also, it appears the wait staff is a little more mature now and able to provide a quality dining experience. The restaurant is also BYOB (no corkage fee) which helps to cut down on the price. (a plus for Twelves is that the food, while being very good, is not gratuitously overpriced). All in all, the improvement in the quality of the food from the last time I was there last year is excellent. (the food was good, but I think they stepped it up and revamped the menu since then) I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who happens to be in the area (perhaps after a day-trip to Longwood Gardens) and hope to return again in the future.

    Let's see... To make a good restaurant you should be judged on the three most important restaurant rules. To be -Yummy -Pleasant -Fresh And Twelves hits them all. The decor is minimalist, classy and pretty, and pays homage to the historic bank that it had been before. The staff is a lovely group of locals with some damn good recommendations, and willing to talk to the chef for a good culinary experience. The food is by far the freshest around--always using as much local and organic selections as possible. The menu changes seasonally, and the dishes are all unique and fit to taste. The space is very open and can be a tad noisy on a Friday or Saturday night. Although it is BYOB, the manager had a nearby liquor store recommendation at the ready. Definitely a good suggestion for a pleasant mid-week dinner!

    My boyfriend and I live about five minutes from this great new restaurant, and we're constantly recommending it to friends in the area. Living in West Grove, PA, you can imagine our relief when this nice, more upscale restaurant appeared in 'downtown' West Grove. It makes for a very nice change of pace amongst the many Mexican restaurants and sub-par pizza shops that make up our local dinner scene. My boyfriend and I, along with his family, eat at Twelves about every other week. Our collective favorite dish is the free-range Parmesan-crusted chicken, but to be honest, we haven't yet ordered anything and been disappointed. I would highly recommend reservations for the busier nights of the week (Thu, Fri, Sat). As mentioned above, it can get rather noisy. But it should also be noted that the interior decor is very nice- earthy and upscale- also paying homage to its historic roots. I would have to agree with Heather that it is a great choice for a mid-week meal; although our dining experiences on the busier nights of the week are always pleasant as well. Overall, a great restaurant. Tim, the head chef and owner, turns everything he touches to delicious! Corny, but true.
